BALTIMORE (Reuters) – Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs, one of the NFL’s best pass rushers, has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts because of a knee injury, the team said on Wednesday.

The three-times Pro Bowler suffered the injury when Cleveland Browns quarterback Brady Quinn struck him with an illegal low block during Baltimore’s 16-0 win on Monday.

Suggs, 27, will be replaced on Sunday by 23-year-old rookie Paul Kruger who will have his hands full against Peyton Manning and the surging Colts, who are a perfect 9-0 this season.

“I’m excited to get on the field,” defensive end Kruger told the team’s website (www.baltimoreravens.com). “I’m definitely going to be working hard this week.

“Suggs is a great player and stepping into a role like that is a tough deal. We’re going to miss him a lot. I want to get to work in practice and get in the film room to do my best to help my team as much as possible.”

The Ravens lie third in the American Football Conference North standings with a win-loss record of 5-4.
